Pilatus interrupts the production of PC-6

The end of an era: Pilatus suspends the production of the legendary Pilatus Porter PC-6

The name Pilatus was famous worldwide: the Pilatus Porter PC-6. This multi-function aircraft has been produced without interruption since 1959, currently in small quantities, that is, a maximum of ten machines per year. The PC-6 has the longest track record in the history of the aviation industry. That will come to an end when we are in early 2019, when production will cease. Support will be provided to existing customers for at least the next 20 years, thus ensuring reliable and continuous operations for PC-6.

Pilatus has produced a total of 500 PC-6 since 1959. A little less than 100 machines were additionally produced in the United States under license. The PC-6 gave Pilatus international recognition for its versatility and short takeoff and landing capabilities, giving it a reputation as a robust "all terrain."
Among its countless achievements, Pilatus Porter has flown several cargo and passenger trips with a maximum payload at an altitude of 5700 meters above sea level, a world record that has not yet been exceeded!
